Silver Generation

University Synagogue’s Silver Generation is open to all, but in particular to members of our congregation. We gather as a senior community to learn, schmooze, and eat with one another. We always have a program of great interest, and enjoy good food and the companionship of good friends.

This last year our programs featured: Dr. Erroll Southers formerly of the Transportation Security Administration discussing “Homegrown Violent Extremism”; Rabbi Stanley Davids who offered his “Confessions of Someone Still Addicted to Hope-An Update on Israel”; and Carol Hahn, R.N., who presented information about “Health/Medical Issues and Medications for Seniors.”

Our rabbis and cantor have also been available to present musical or educational programming about the holidays and current events. The steering committee for the silver generation is chaired by Chuck Kahn and committee members include Bill Sanders, Barbara Levin, Ephraim Katz, and Barbara Dischler.
